By the end of January, most people have already stopped working on improving their new year by giving up on their New Year’s Resolutions.  Why do people give up on making the new year their best year ever, even before the first month of the new year is over?

It takes a good month, two months, or even more, before you see changes to real New Year’s Resolutions.  What do you want to change this year?  What part of your life do you want to improve?  What is keeping you from achieving your goals?

These questions you must ask yourself, right the answers down, and focus on what you truly want in your life and what is keeping you from achieving these desires of yours?

Do you want to become debt free this year or start on a plan to achieve debt freedom within the next 5 years?  Well, where are you now?  how much debt do you currently have, how much are your minimum payments on your bills every month, and how much money do you have left over from your minimum payments at the end of the month?

If you are like 95% of the population, you have too much month at the end of your money!  You run out of money before the end of the month runs out, then you have to scramble to make ends meet before your next paycheck.  I have been there, done that, and it is no way to live.

Paycheck to paycheck living, always worrying about the next bill to come in the mail, and always having to live below your means, is miserable.  It might be a temporary way to live while making positive changes to better your situation, as I have done in the past, but it is no way to live for any length of time and way too many people are living like this around the world and have no way out of this rat race.

What about losing weight.  Might this be one of your New Year’s Resolutions?  The top two New Year’s Resolutions are losing weight and making more money, so I would almost bet that you might be looking at losing weight or getting back in shape this year.

Do you have a plan for losing weight?  The best plan is to eat fewer calories than you can burn each day.  That is “THE SECRET” to losing weight.  But, who wants to be on a crappy tasting diet or a diet that cuts out all of our favorite foods?

Who can stay on that kind of diet and make a lifestyle change when they hate what they eat?  Nobody that wants to enjoy life.  What if you had a plan that would allow you to eat anything you desire as long as you don’t eat too much of what you truly crave?

Do you like pizza, cheese cake, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream, and other fat foods?  You know what?  So do I, and I’m gonna eat these foods no matter what!  But, I’m not going to eat them often and I’m not going to eat as much of these foods as I truly want to eat because I want to enjoy the foods without taking in too many calories.  It’s as simple as that.

I love food, but I know my basal metabolic rate is around 2,500 calories a day.  Therefore, I will either eat 2,500 calories or less per day or, better yet, I will eat 3,000 calories and exercise to lose 500 calories in return.  This way, I can eat what I want and not gain weight.

Now, if I am trying to lose weight or trim up, I will eat 2,500 calories plus exercise enough to burn 100 to 500 calories or more, and start losing weight within a week, because I know that for every pound I want to lose, I must burn 3,700 calories more than what I eat, or about 500 calories a day to lose a pound in a week.  It’s as simple as that.

Burn even 250 calories more than you eat a day and you will lose a pound every two weeks and be able to maintain the weight loss while enjoying life and getting in better cardiovascular and physical  condition.  It really is that simple.  You just have to have a plan, people to help you stay focused and motivated, and just don’t give up on your new years resolutions!
